October 7, 2015

Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues on to explore painting, drawing and tapestry at two West Town galleries.

Come visit the studio of Paula Henderson, whose fascinating recent work addresses the social impact of representations of women in the commercial media. Her pattern paintings reflect the shaping of identities based on the “push/ pull” of desire. Paula’s work is in many permanent collections including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Clark College, Atlanta and Kirkland and Ellis Chicago. At Corbett vs. Dempsey we will see the drawings of renowned New York painter Terry Winters, whose approach to the process of painting has expanded abstract art. Ebony Patterson’s beautiful tapestries, exhibited at Monique Meloche Gallery, create a window into Jamaican society. Enjoy lunch at the delicious and fun Jerry’s.

Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
