September 12, 2014

Join me for an exciting day of exploring painting, sculpture and photography at three Chicago galleries.

At Monique Meloche Gallery we will meet Jason Middlebrook who will discuss his sculptures, which are crafted from hardwood planks and feature painted abstractions. His artwork explores the relationship between man and nature. Jason's work is in many permanent collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, NY, The Whitney Museum of American Art and the MCA, Chicago.

Theaster Gates has organized a fascinating show presented by Richard Gray and Valerie Carberry Galleries called "Retreat." Retreat explores ways in which artists of color perform retreat in diverse forms with various meanings.

At Rhona Hoffman Gallery we will see the beautiful, raw, painterly canvases of Natalie Frank.

Enjoy lunch at the delicious eco-chic restaurant Prasino.
