February 13, 2019

Brighten your winter blues with a fun day of art. We'll visit an artist's studio and explore painting and drawing at two Chicago galleries.

Come see the studio of prominent artist William Conger, whose powerful, geometric, abstract paintings combine fascinating arrangements of color, form and light. Conger's work is in many permanent collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Georgia Museum of Art and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. At Corbett v. Dempsey's exciting new space, we will see the striking work of renowned artist Christopher Wool, who contrasts bold stencilled text or abstract brushwork with white backgrounds. Wool possesses a wide range of styles, combining many painterly techniques. At Zolla Lieberman Gallery, we will meet Jeane Cohen who will discuss her energetic, abstract paintings. Enjoy lunch at the delicious Farmhouse restaurant.

Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago's art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
