/Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues to explore painting and drawing at two Chicago galleries.
Come visit the studio of Cheryl Pope whose vibrant textile paintings explore memory, relationships, and the poetics of everyday life. Her work investigates identity as it relates to the individual and the community. Pope's art is in many permanent collections including the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, FL; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Seattle Art Museum, WA; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, CA. At Patron Gallery, we will see the stunning abstract paintings of Lindsay Adams, whose practice focuses on freedom, joy, and the possibilities of imagination. Adams created an inspiring installation entitled “Weary Blues," for the Obama Presidential Center. At Secrist Beach, we will experience Whitney Bedford’s luminous reinterpretations of historical landscape paintings by artists such as Milton Avery and Edvard Munch. Enjoy lunch at the delicious restaurant Noble Thai.
Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
