/Join me for an interesting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues to explore painting, drawing and sculpture at two Chicago galleries.
Come visit the studio of abstract painter Kim Piotrowski, whose bold use of color, energetic mark-making and broad brushstrokes is visually exciting. Her paintings incorporate notions of order and chaos, calm and anxiety and tenderness and violence. Piotrowski’s work has been exhibited internationally, including Grolle Pass:Projects, Wuppertal, Germany; Marcia Wood Gallery, Atlanta; the Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago and Dominican University, River Forest. At Gray Chicago we will see stunning iPad paintings by renowned artist David Hockney. Hockney’s paintings of landscapes and floral still lifes were inspired by his daily observations and created at his studio and home in Normandy, France. At Patron Gallery we will experience new work by Alex Chitty, whose sculpture liberates ordinary objects from their mundane life and amplifies muted elements of our surroundings. Enjoy lunch at the colorful Southwestern restaurant Flo.
Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
