December 13, 2023 (rescheduled from 11/29)
/Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues to explore painting and sculpture at two Chicago galleries.
Come visit the studio of Jackie Kazarian, whose vibrant paintings evoke emotion and depth through her use of pattern, lush brushstroke, and rich color. Kazarian’s work has been exhibited internationally, including the permanent collections of the State of Illinois Art Museum, Rockford Art Museum, and the US Embassy, Armenia. Kazarian’s paintings were featured in the The Seldoms’ June dance performance, “Superbloom.” We will see Diane Simpson’s elegant sculpture inspired by architecture and clothing at Corbett vs. Dempsey. Simpson’s work was included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial. At Rhona Hoffman Gallery we will experience “Women on the Verge,” a provocative group exhibit by 27 women artists, including Cindy Sherman, Mary Lou Zelazny and Gladys Nilsson, responding to contemporary culture and art history. Enjoy lunch at the delicious Noble Thai restaurant.
Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
