Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues to explore painting and drawing at two Chicago galleries.

Come see the studio of painter Leslie Baum, whose use of different mediums expands how we think of painting. Baum was honored in New City Magazine’s fall arts issue as one of Chicago’s Art 50 2023. As stated by Regan Dockery, “A master at the manipulation of color, her paintings and installation work transport you into a world in which abstract form, shape and an exploration of color take precedence over the narrative …” Baum’s work is in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Elmhurst Art Museum. Recent solo exhibitions include the Chicago Cultural Center and The Arts Club of Chicago. At Rhona Hoffman Gallery we will see stunning oil paintings by Iraqi artist Bassim Al-Shaker. Al-Shaker is internationally recognized for his work based on his experiences growing up before and after the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. Kaveri Raina’s sensual and meditative paintings exhibited at Patron Gallery reference personal and art-historical imagery while using recurring abstract forms taken from cinema and fantasy. Enjoy lunch at the delicious Southwestern restaurant Flo.

Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
