Join me for a fun day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues on to explore painting and photography at two River North galleries.

Come visit the studio of Todd Chilton, who creates intensely colored, optically vibrant, abstract paintings. Chilton's recent exhibitions include solo shows at Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Bellstreet Projects, Vienna, Austria and Feature, Inc. New York. Photographs by renowned photographer Andre Kertesz will be exhibited at Stephen Daiter Gallery. Kertesz's photographs capture the poetry of modern urban life in Paris and New York. At Zolla Lieberman Gallery we will see a group show entitled "Making Space" featuring the work of Michelle Grabner and Jim Lutes. Enjoy lunch at Karyn's Cooked.

Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues on to explore painting and photography at two Chicago galleries.

Come visit the studio of Rebecca Shore whose meticulous paintings and drawings are characterized by an abiding interest in pattern and system. Shore's unique artistic identity is nourished by an obsessive collection of resource materials. Her recent exhibitions include solo shows at the Elmhurst Art Museum, Chicago Cultural Center, Herron School of Art, Indianapolis and Corbett vs. Dempsey. Molly Zuckerman-Hartung's strong, abstract paintings will be exhibited at Corbett vs. Dempsey.  Molly is included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial. At Ann Nathan Gallery we will see the poetic photographs of legendary photographer Art Shay. Enjoy lunch at Karyn's Cooked.

Come visit the studio of Dan Gunn, who creates "constructed paintings" with a meticulous sense of craft. His abstract objects simultaneously inhabit the realms of painting and sculpture. Dan was awarded the 2013 Artadia/Expo Chicago Award. His work has been exhibited nationally, including the MCA, Chicago and Art Los Angeles Contemporary. He is looking forward to upcoming shows at Miami Basel and Monique Meloche Gallery. At Shane Campbell Gallery you will see Jonas Wood's energetic and personal paintings of American life that blur the boundaries of figuration and abstraction. We will visit the former home, studio and art collection of leading Chicago Imagist painter Roger Brown, whose radiant images were passionately political and formally dazzling. The RBSC contains Brown's extensive art collection, found objects and original furniture. Brown's work is in many museum collections including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. At Shane Campbell Gallery you will see John McAllister's optically intense and elegant paintings evocative of Matisse.
