/Join me for an exciting day that begins with a visit to an artist's studio and continues to explore painting, sculpture and textiles at two Chicago galleries.
Come visit the studio of Cody Hudson, whose brightly colored abstract paintings, drawings, and steel sculptures explore the emotional associations of shape and color. He is inspired by nature, everyday life and urban landscapes. Hudson’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Mini Galerie in Amsterdam, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and V1 Gallery, Copenhagen. At Monique Meloche Gallery, we will experience Arvie Smith’s lyrical, narrative paintings that reflect his passion for advancing social and racial justice. Smith’s exhibit captures his early years in the South and his teens in Los Angeles during the Jim Crow era. At Andrew Rafacz Gallery, we will see Melissa Leandro’s stunning layered textile works, where she uses traditional and non-traditional processes of stitching, quilting and weaving. Enjoy lunch at the delicious Southwestern restaurant Flo.
Broaden your knowledge of art and explore Chicago’s art community in a small group atmosphere, with personalized attention.
