Come visit the studio of Anna Kunz, who describes her colorful abstract paintings as "seeping out of the rectangle." Last Spring, at an exhibition at the Hyde Park Art Center, Kunz created a spectacular large-scale installation where she used the physicality of color and light to broaden the boundaries of painting. Kunz's work has been included in numerous national exhibitions, most recently at the Smart Museum, Chicago and White Box, NYC. We will experience Theaster Gates' fascinating new sculpture, installation and neon work at Gray Warehouse in a show entitled, "Every Square Needs a Circle." At Corbett vs. Dempsey, we will see wildly inventive paintings by Karl Wirsum, an original member of the Harry Who. Enjoy lunch at the delicious Southwestern restaurant, Flo.

Come see the studio of Diane Christiansen, whose provocative paintings and installations explore themes of interconnectedness, impermanence and decay. Christiansen's work has been exhibited internationally, including the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland, the St. Louis Contemporary Art Museum and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. In 2016, Christiansen and Jeanne Dunning created "Birth Death Breath: An Inflatable Opera" that premiered at the Elmhurst Art Museum. At Corbett vs. Dempsey we will see Magalie Guerin's strong, poetic paintings that transform everyday objects into suggestive semi abstractions. In 2015 Kazarian created Armenia, a monumental painting celebrating the cultural vitality and history of the Armenian people on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
